The start of the day
Woke up at 7am this morning.
Made breakfast, boiled water, washed up, put in a fresh load of laundry, kissed hubby goodbye, ate my breakfast, took down yesterday's laundry, hung today's laundry out to dry, washed the dishes and kept the groceries from yesterday's trip to the supermarket.
It's now 9am. Hmmm.... what shall I do for the rest of the day?

毛毛虫
While talking to my hubby yesterday afternoon, i was just telling him how a 毛毛虫 fell on our poor god son, causing him to have rashes and a small black patch at the back of his neck.
And last night, i had a bad dream about 毛毛虫!!!! The house was full of them and they kept growing bigger and bigger. YUCKS!!!!
Next time, i should talk more about sweets, flowers and.... handbags!

No it's not just about the money
Met up with a friend who took a 5 months break last year. When we were swapping stories, we realised a common point. Whenever we tell friends that we are currently not working, one of their very first reactions would be - Wow you must be rich!
Yes, i admit money is an important factor, but it is not the main factor. Sometimes people just need a break from work, just need to relax and enjoy life at a slower pace! Plus if your financial commitments are not high in the first place, then i'm sure you will be able to manage since we spend a lot less while not working.
And of course it really helps to live near your mum and be able to settle your meals there!

Book - Digital Fortress by Dan Brown
Excellent book, really difficult to put down! It wasn't as technical and complicated to follow as i expected. The story is really easy to follow and it keeps you going until you reach the end. Highly recommended!

50? 100?
I wonder.... how many disappointments we need to go through before we can really be immune to them?
May tomorrow be a better day...

Book - Handle With Care by Jodi Picoult
Yet another heart-warming page turner by Jodi Picoult. And yet another story with a slightly unexpected ending. But i didn't like this ending again... Think i should stop reading her books, at least for now, cos i feel so frustrated reading all the way to find this ending.

Out sick
Have been out sick for the past week. Was having fever for 7 straight days and also flu for most of that time. It was crazy. Doc said it was likely due to the crazy hot weather.
So have not been doing much for one whole week, did not even go out.
Suddenly felt a burst of energy to clear my past 6 months of filing that has been sitting in the in-tray! All done! Next is to help my hubby clear his, which is twice as high my stack was :p

Making?
Friend: Can you be a referee for me for my uni application?
Me: Sure, what do you need from me?
Friend: Just your occupation and address. Housewife?
Me: Put homemaker, sounds nicer.
Friend: So what are you making at home?

Fast or slow?
The week passes so slowly,
for someone who is working.
The week passes so fast
for someone who is not.
Have a happy week ahead!

Reflections
It's been a month since I've stopped working. Time flies but I am so NOT bored yet! Many people have been asking me what I've been doing during these time. I wonder too, time has passed so fast. Thought it was time to sit down and recall what I've been doing buy going through my previous list:
1) Take up cooking, maybe even a cooking course?
- not exactly completed but I have cooked 1 or 2 dishes so far, which is already an accomplishment for me. And busy baking the honey cornflakes for CNY, which have been a total hit :D
2) Read, read, read (have so many books lined up on the book shelf)
- only completed 2 books, definitely should read more!
3) Take up a short Photoshop course... maybe...
- Not yet, maybe taking up Jap with hubby
4) Source for more products for Babybeans
- hmmm.... not so successful in this.
5) Go meet friends for lunch
- DONE, more to come!
6) Clean up the house, need to tidy up the cupboards
- DONE! But can do more!
7) Throw away any unwanted stuff that i've accumulated over the years
- DONE! But can do more!
8) Pull out my Pilates DVD and start Pilates again - Not yet
9) Exercise - Not really.... WHOOPS!!!
Well, plus many gatherings during the CNY season; surfing the net and playing computer games; meeting a colleague from Australia; going to mum's place for lunch and chatting with her a lot more; shopping with a friend during a weekday afternoon and loving the emptiness of the shopping centre; going to the temple for prayers; attending my cousin's wedding dinner....
Looking forward to the months ahead! Woo Hoo!!
