To carry or not to carry

It's hard to describe that feeling....

When I see my son lying in his cot quietly and awake, I feel so bad for him. So "poor thing" being left on his own, not doing anything, no one entertaining him. But I know I must not pick him up, for it is good to let him entertain himself, that I should not spoil him by carrying him all the time.

Just the start of many internal struggles that we parents have to face I suppose?

Countdown

It is exactly one more month to my EDD...

Lots of mixed feelings. Seems like time the 9 months just flew by, but yet it seems like we have finally reach "the end" of this long journey. Indescribable happiness to be able to see our little precious soon, yet apprehension on the process needed to reach the stage.

Whatever it is, we just can't wait to hold him in our arms and start this new and wonderful journey as a family... Just can't wait!! :)

One more movie

Me - Wonder when will be our next movie after this?

Hubby - Probably at least 6 months later....

Christmas

This has to be the most 'un-Christmas' like Christmas ever. Cos I'm not working, so did not have any gift exchanges with colleagues. Have not been going out much, so have not been hearing Christmas carols over the radio or blasting in the shopping centers.

Didn't set up the Christmas tree this year. And even our Christmas eve meeting with friends is cancelled as our friend is sick. Even then, dinner plans were just to ta pao zi char from downstairs, no turkey, no ham and no Christmas presents...

Regardless, I would still like to wish everyone a very very Merry Christmas! Eat more, drink more, and don't drive if you drink! Cheers!!!!

The Ikea curse

Went to Ikea today. Didn't manage to get what we wanted, but spent almost 80 bucks on a whole lot of other "nonsense"... again... as always...

Observation

I realized that whether it's the courier service man at your door, or the Singpost postwoman, they will announce themselves by calling out "Postman!"

Random thoughts

Funny how sometimes you have so much trouble falling asleep.

And the next morning, you have so much trouble waking up.

Shades

Our friend's 3 year old daughter pointed at my hubby's shirt and said his favourite colour is grey.

Their young niece said that pink is too kiddish a colour and her current favourite colour is now turquoise.

Did we even know these shades of colours when we were so young?? Wasn't everything just red, blue, green or yellow?

Journey to the east

Always love seeing rainbows. And I loved seeing the whole arch instead of just one side of it... beautiful!!

How to get in??

Imagine how irritated we were when we went up to the Shaw carpark and saw this! How selfish some Singaporeans are! This driver of the car on the left left a huge space for himself to get out and almost none for my hubby to get in.

Ok ok, maybe i am being too harsh. I guess the body size must be a lot bigger than us... and i am not referring to the car.

Sweetness

My hubby is the sweetest.

He will always try his best to make sure i get what i want. And I'm not just referring to the big things. It's really the little things... When we drove past the pasar malam near our house on Monday night, I mentioned in passing that it's been a long time since i had those steamed peanuts. And on Tuesday night, after coming out from the shower, sitting quietly on the counter top was a bag of steamed peanuts..

My hubby is really the sweetest :)

Inspired

Do you know that Japs not only sort their trash for recycling, they even go to the extent of cutting up their milk cartons, washing them, hanging them up to dry and then adding it to the paper recycling pile?

Everyone in the neighbourhood does it and they all cut it in a standard way so that it can be stacked together and tied up.

Soccer

I've never understood the fascination with 22 men running after 1 ball. Even though my dad used to be a national soccer player, back when most of you where not even born, back in the sixties.

My dad has many newspapers articles that have grown yellow with age, I decided to do a search online and found some short articles from http://newspapers.nl.sg/

He was already playing for Malaysia before Singapore's independence in 1965.

A defender, but constantly scored goals too.

And I was especially tickled by this article :p

Now is to find a day to go down to National Library to search the Chinese papers and find the article on my parent's wedding :)

Technology

I used my hubby's iPhone to search for an address of a shop. Then used my phone camera to take a picture of the result.

Even though I was at home.

Oh the wonders of technology.
