8 years and counting
It's a "no presents" year. Partly to save money, but mainly due to the fact that we have totally ran out of ideas on what to get for each other. Decided to save up for our big 10 years ROM anniversary next January instead. So we just celebrated with a nice dinner at The Clan Restaurant.

Bargain
At about 9pm each day, we would go into the bedroom to change, read some story books and prepare for bedtime. Aiden will always bring some cars in with him. Until it reached the point where we limited him to a maximum of 10 cars. Last week, he decided to try his luck.
Aiden: I want to bring 11 cars into the room
Me: No, only 10 cars
Aiden: 11 cars?
Me: No.
Aiden: I want 10 cars!
After thinking for awhile...
Me: Ok, only if you can say 11 in Chinese
Aiden (after a short pause): 一 二 三 四 五 六 七 八 九 十 十一 !
I couldn't help but smile and gave in to his request.

Happy Mother's Day
On the Friday before Mother's Day, Aiden greeted me at the door excitedly and said he had flowers for me. He ran to his school bag but was not able to find it. He kept saying there were flowers so I told him that he may have left it in school and can give it to Mummy on Monday.
On Monday, again he greeted me at the door, this time with the picture above. I was so touched. Not because I received a gift from him, but because he was so proud of his work and remembered to give it to me. And he said to me,"Happy Mother's Day, I love you!"
I love you too my darling, and i have it at my office cubicle, reminding me of you every single moment!

Me: Do you want to go to the Zoo or Fire Station on your birthday?
Aiden: Zoo!
Me: Really?
Aiden: Err, Fire Station
Me: oh which one?
Aiden: Put the fire engines in the zoo, then I can drive many fire engines in the zoo!

Aiden: Why the car parked like that?
Daddy: I don't know. Why?
Aiden: Because the car did not park like this.

Noise
Aiden was busy rolling the small balls along the window grill.
Daddy: Not so loud please.
Aiden: I'm making noise for everybody to listen.

Teacher Aiden
We took out the new puzzles to play
Aiden: Mummy, let me teach you
Me: Ok Aiden teach Mummy
Aiden: Aiden is teacher, teach Mummy
And throughout the session, he was encouraging me with phrases like
- Oh yes, that's the one Mummy!
- Can you try here (pointing at where the puzzle piece should go)
- Let's fix Thomas first (giving me directions on where to start)
And some others I don't remember the exact words now... 😁

Family Staycation
This year, instead of booking the Loyang Bungalow, we had a great time at our Staycation at Changi Village Hotel.
Day 1 - Jen Fai had a quick swim in the afternoon while Aiden was sleeping. As it started to rain, we headed to Changi Airport to walk around and have dinner.
Day 2 - Thank goodness for the good weather, we spent the morning at Pasir Ris Park. We cycled and Jen Fai roller bladed. In the late afternoon, we visited the Flower Dome at Gardens by the Bay and ended the day with a ride on the Singapore Flyer
Day 3 - Breakfast in the hotel before heading home.

Aiden: I want to buy that one.
Me: You want to buy the red light?
Aiden: Yes
Me: Do you have the money?
Aiden: Yes!
Me: From where?
Aiden: Aiden is a big boy already, know how to pay money
(We have allowed him to pass money to the cashier a few times)
Me: Oh yes but where is the money from?
Aiden: From Mummy's bag.

Aiden: Mummy, are you sick?
Me: Yes, Mummy is sick.
Aiden (looking very concerned): Are you feeling better?
