Online Japan shopping
Want to buy stuff from a Japan website but they don't accept International credit cards?
Found a website that solves both problems. This website charges a little more for each product, but is in English and accepts international credit cards and paypal. Very convenient.
http://www.akinaiblog.com/
You can even request for them to help you search for a product if it's not available on their website :)
Yeah! Shopping time!

Book - The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks

A truly beautiful love story. It was so easy to read and so captivating, I couldn't put it down.
It was all the more poignant for me because my granny and great grandfather both suffered from Alzeimers... so it may run in my family's genes too! It is scary to think that we may one day forget everything we have ever been through. But I guess it is even more heart wrenching for the love ones, who may not be recognised by the patient anymore. How many people will have the strength and the courage of Noah to continue to try, day by day, to help the love of his life remember again?

Book - Long Way Down

Really enjoyed reading the experiences they have meeting the African people and the wildlife and especially the UNICEF visits. So much more needs to be done in Africa. And like they said again and again in the book, it's amazing to see how brave the people there and what amazing spirit they have, even though they have so little!

Govt agency
Day 1 - I did the update online
Day 2 - Officer A called and left a voice message as I was on leave
Day 3 - I was busy and did not return message yet
Day 4 - Officer A called again and asked me to email her. Officer B emailed me asking for same info
Day 5 - I emailed Officer A and Officer B. Officer A called me to clarify and said that it is acceptable
Day 6 - Officer B emailed me to say the info is not acceptable and to change it again. I told her that Officer A confirmed that it is acceptable but she still said i had to change
Day 10 - Officer C sends me a letter asking for the same info!!!!!! And asks me to email him at telephone number 6XXXXXXX!!!!
Conclusion - Each officer is in charge of a different form of communication (phone, email, letter) and they obviously do not communicate with one another!!

Long lost friend
I have been searching and searching for her.
Have always felt bad for losing touch with her.
We used to be so close in primary school, going to each other's house.
Meeting at the playground, chatting, sharing crushes.
Even through secondary school, we were constantly exchanging letters.
(Oh yes the good old days when computers and handphones were hardly used)
Somehow we lost touch as we grew older, busy with our own lives.
So coincidentally, she saw my pic in her friend's sister's Facebook.
And that friend is a school mate of mine whom i hardly knew.
Happened that we attended a common friend's wedding...
No matter how people laugh at those who use social networking sites,
I am still a fan, if not for the only fact that it helps me connect to old friends.
Even if it is only for that one single special friend that i have regretted not keeping in touch with, it's all worth it!
