So happy for PS!

JJ has proposed to PS last night! So happy for them, especially for PS. Just can't explain the feeling of happiness you have when one of your best friends finds her special someone :)

Wishing them everlasting love and blissful marriage forever :)

Think...

*Before you complain about your husband or wife,
Think of someone who's crying out to God for a companion...

13 years of friendship

Today marks 13 years of friendship with PS & BY! 13 years ago, still in college, we decided that we needed to set aside a date to promise ourselves to meet at least once a year. Thankfully, we are still constantly in touch and meet more often than just yearly.

Went for a girls night out and had dinner at Suntec on Friday to celebrate. Happy Anniversary girls! - jan :)

Tennis... and badminton next week

Ant played tennis with Ben & August at the Civil Service Club last night while Irene and Evelyn went swimming. I was too lazy so just brought a book to read. Hee... we have a badminton date next week. Promise I'll play this time! :p

Then went for good old steamboat... yummy... :D

Have you ever noticed...

.... how the lane you are in is always the slowest, especially during a jam?

Food from the Heart

Ever thought of doing some volunteer work but don't know where to start?

Food from the Heart has a bread distribution program that only requires 30-45 mins of your time per week. To help deliver bread from bakeries to homes that need them. It's something so simple and take up such a small amount of our time. You can visit their website for more information: http://www.foodheart.org/

They also have a cafe - CAFE HEART at the Omnimax Theatre (beside Science Center). All proceeds from the cafe goes towards the charity. Do visit them if you are there! :)

Something's brewing

KW and I met up again last night to discuss our little project. Hope that it will materialize soon. If it does, we'll be counting on all our family and friends' support!

Hope to have more details to share with you all soon! - jan

Bought a small cake to celebrate mum's 65th birthday... :)

Jurong Bird Park

Made a trip to Jurong Bird Park (a place seems to amaze adults more than children. or at least not our nephew :D) with the family for mum's bday. Hmmm... not that much to see, think we still prefer the zoo much more....

But still like the World of Darkness the best even after all these years, especially the Snowy Owl. Reminds me of Hedwig. Here's a little trivia for you. Owls can actually make a 270 degrees turn with their head? 270 degrees to the left... then back to the right... which means the owl can actually watch it's back! Bet you didn't know that!

And also... that man made waterfall inside... is actually still the world tallest man made waterfall so far... ( at least that's what the sign says, unless it's already outdated :O )

Just when we were at the waterfall.. this "ang mor" lady came to me asking for help on a pic... Guess What ! Gosh! almost forgotten how to use a "conventional" film camera... (the type that needs aim using the viewfinder instead of the screen).. was still looking for the screen for a min... hee :D

Tong Tong

Yeah, managed to go for a jog again at West Coast Park. Hope we can make this a regular exercise regime!

KW brought Tong Tong to meet us at Macs too. This curious little boy was busy looking everywhere, so adorable. Didn't manage to catch a good pic of him though. No worries, go to KW's blog for more pics of the little cutie!

Life's good... when you don't have to work :p

Took a day's leave to enjoy a super long weekend! But poor Ant has to work today since he's in the midst of a project :(

Time to play some games at my favourite games site - Big Fish Games (www.bigfishgames.com) :)

Ta Ta! - jan

Signs of getting old....

Finally satisfied my craving for sushi last night with another 2 of our friends, followed by some good old fashioned tea and kopi at the traditional coffee shops.

Ant and I were just commenting on how much we prefer gatherings now to just meet up and chat... No more clubbing, or even meeting in town... just a quiet place for a quiet chat, that's good enough for us - jan

Sunday - Exercise & baby shower

Time to exercise! Made our way to West Coast Park this morning for a jog and walk. Should really do it more often since we exercise so little nowadays. Felt so refreshed after that especially after a nice shower. BUT... our legs are feeling the strain already :p

Went for baby Elizabeth's one month old celebration. James and Lynn must be such proud parents of this adorable little princess! And it was nice to see the group again. We were so busy chatting that we didn't realise that we were the last guests around! :)

How fast the weekend flew by... looking forward to the short work week ahead!

How to stay young and happy?

Throw out nonessential numbers.
This includes age, weight, and height.
Let the doctors worry about them.. That is why you pay them

Keep only cheerful friends.
The grouches pull you down.
(Keep this in mind if you are one of those grouches!)

Enjoy the simple things

Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.

And if you have a friend who makes you laugh, spend lots and lots of time with him or her!
Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.

Petrol Watch

Jon told us about this website: Petrol Watch
http://www.petrolwatch.com.sg/priceguru.htm

Gives a comparison of the prices among the diff petrol stations and which credit cards give the best discount.

Good information esp in times of rising oil prices! Will add it to our favourite links on the right :D
