Botak Jones

Heard so much about it so finally decided to give it a try last night.

It was good! Best part was that they served the food immediately once we arrived as we called 15 minutes before that to make a pre-order. Happy to skip the long queue!

It was value for money. Ant ordered the Large Fish & Chips ($12.50) and I ordered the Regular Cajun Chicken ($7.50). It did not taste like breast meat at all, very tender and yummy. Both came with 2 side dishes each and the portions were generous.

Would definitely go there again since there is an outlet near to our home.

elearning for Primary 1 kids

Wow, i know i would sound like a "moutain tortoise" to some, but I am still surprised that Primary 1 kids have to go through elearning these days. Yes my sister reconfirmed the fact that all schools have it now.

Still I was quite amazed when my nephew could go to the website, log in with his password and go through the lesson and assessment, all on his own!

Books - Eclipse & Breaking Dawn (Twilight Saga) by Stephenie Meyer

Have finished both books, meaning I've also finished the whole Twilight series. Feeling a little lost now as I have been so engrossed in this series, bringing the books with me everywhere I went.

Both books were good reads, better than the 2nd book. And thank goodness for the happy ending :) Something just keeps me wanting to read and read to find out what's going to happen next. Hope to find other such good reads soon :)

We love Sundays!

Did you bring your books today?
No we lost them on the way.
What a tragic incident.
Thank you for the compliment.
Nonsense! We've got lots to do.
Catch the sun and paint it blue.
Geography, Biology.
We don't like that, let us be.
I don't know what's wrong with you!
We've got lots of other things to do!

We don't believe in school days.
We want more Sundays!
We don't believe in school days.
Sundays are fun days!
Cos everybody knows,
That little smurfs are clever!
"Wee Wee Wee"
We don't believe in school days.
Not now or ever!!

*Damn... the song is STUCK in my head!

Our 3rd Wedding anniversary - 21 May 09

We went for a simple but yummy dinner at Si Chuan Dou Hua (UOB Building 60th floor). We tried the UOB's Chef's Creation menu and it was good! Made of 7 small dishes - Cold Dish (with a yummy "Golden Coin" that we had no idea what it was made up of), Shark's Fin Soup, Lobster, Chicken, Vege, Noodle and Dessert. Though a little pricey, but definitely worth it. Highly recommended :)

The dessert was "Tang Yuan" but I asked to change mine to Mango Pudding. And I guess since it was the chef's creation menu, it came complete with the dry ice effect. Nice!

And of course, my dear super sweet hubby surprised me with.....

Yes! My own laptop! Something I've been wanting for a long time but always felt no need to spend on one! He knows that i would never buy one on my own, especially since my job is not stable... Hee, THANKS! my dear!!!

RED!

Whenever i need to colour / highlight my hair, I've never had to personally choose the colour. I would usually just need to tell my hair stylist roughly what I was looking for. He would make thc choice for me since he knows that it's quite difficult for my hair to absorb colours usually.

BUT! I was still shocked when i happened to turn my head and saw this on the side table!!!

And no... thank goodness it's not so RED on my hair :p In fact, you may not even notice the highlights in my hair if you were less observant :p

Surprise Winner

Oh wow... can't believe Kris Allen won! Not that he's not good, but I thought Adam Lambert would be the hot favourite. Given his charisma and singing ability...

wonder if he lost out because he's gay?
I thought US is all about freedom of choice??

Book - New Moon by Stephenie Meyer

Yes, i finished it in 3 days (even though i tried to pace my reading). The story is not bad, though i preferred the first book. Partly cos I was quite irritated with the storyline. Edward was absent for almost two thirds of the book. So i wanted to quickly get through the story and wait for him to reappear so that the love story can be continued.

But I will still get the next 2 books to read to complete the series.

New! Wet/Dry Bags @ Babybeans!

Tired of lugging multiple bags and digging into the dark abyss of your bag-within-a-bag when you are out?!

A truly innovative patent pending bag that allows you to carry your wet and dry items in the same bag. Each bag contains a "wet" section that is sewn and sealed for no wicking or leaking AND a zippered dry section along with a clever snap handle for easy carrying.Carry all your items in one bag while keeping your dry items dry and your wet or soiled items separate. Truly an all in one bag!

***Great ideas for use***

- at the Beach -
Put your wet swimsuit/towels in the wet section while your handphone, mp3 player, keys can be put into the dry section! Yay! no more carrying UGLY plastic NTUC bags and tying knots that are so tight that cannot be removed when you get home :P

- at the Restaurant with a impatient baby/toddler-
After feeding your baby, you can simply dump your container/spoons/wet tissues into the wet section and those un-used utencils into the dry section!

- on Vacation -
Put all your toothpaste and toothbrushes, shavers into the, yes, the wet division and all your cosmetic, and other dry stuff into the er, dry section.

Book - Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

I was totally engrossed in the book. I had enjoyed the movie, being the hopeless romantic that I am, loved the total devotion Edward had for Bella, loved the idea of having found your someone after a hundred years, loved the fact that his every thought was for her.

After reading the book, i realised that Edward was really very well protrayed in the movie. And when i read the book, I would remember how he looked in the movie with every description.

It is a simple story line, easy to read and though some call it nothing more than a teenage love story, i still enjoyed it thoroughly. Will be getting the rest of the books in the saga too :)

Our 2nd trip to Batam

We had such a relaxing time the previous round that we decided to make a 2nd trip to Batam.

Much more crowded this time though since we went during the May day long weekend. But it was ok, we felt the crowd only mainly during breakfast and when all the lounge chairs by the pool were taken up.

We stocked up with a lot more snacks and beer this time round. And we managed to finish almost all of it! Oh yes, we ate and ate and ate... non stop - breakfast, snacks, lunch, snacks, dinner, snacks, supper :p

Well, we definitely wan to make another trip together again.... maybe Bali next time round?

Book - Rachel's Holiday by Marian Keyes

Quite an easy read. The book is quite thick but it was able to keep me interested to finish reading the book. It has a simple story line, nothing heavy or mind boggling.
