Movie - Up In The Air

"How much does your life weigh? Imagine for a second that you're carrying a backpack. I want you to pack it with all the stuff that you have in your life... you start with the little things. The shelves, the drawers, the knickknacks, then you start adding larger stuff. Clothes, tabletop appliances, lamps, your TV... the backpack should be getting pretty heavy now.

You go bigger. Your couch, your car, your home... I want you to stuff it all into that backpack. Now I want you to fill it with people. Start with casual acquaintances, friends of friends, folks around the office... and then you move into the people you trust with your most intimate secrets. Your brothers, your sisters, your children, your parents and finally your husband, your wife, your boyfriend, your girlfriend.

You get them into that backpack, feel the weight of that bag. Make no mistake your relationships are the heaviest components in your life. All those negotiations and arguments and secrets, the compromises. The slower we move the faster we die."

Random thoughts

Funny how sometimes you have so much trouble falling asleep.

And the next morning, you have so much trouble waking up.

Wendys

We have been wanting to go to the outlet ever since it opened. So we finally made a trip to the Jurong Point outlet last night. It was so small! I nearly gave up but hubby persisted and we decided to wait for 2 of the less than 15 seats.

Thankfully the food did not disappoint!

Definitely recommended:
- Quarter Pounder Burger
- Ultimate Chicken Grill Burger
- Nuggets

Give it a miss:
- Fries were hard and overcooked.
- Baked potato was so-so, i mean, how wrong can you go with this?

Shades

Our friend's 3 year old daughter pointed at my hubby's shirt and said his favourite colour is grey.

Their young niece said that pink is too kiddish a colour and her current favourite colour is now turquoise.

Did we even know these shades of colours when we were so young?? Wasn't everything just red, blue, green or yellow?

Journey to the east

Always love seeing rainbows. And I loved seeing the whole arch instead of just one side of it... beautiful!!

Can it get any more complicated than this?

"There are 3 kinds of letters in Japanese - hiragana, katakana and kanji (Chinese characters). Hiragana and katakana are phonetic representations of sounds, and each letter basically corresponds to one mora (a unit of sound). Kanji convey meanings as well as sounds.

In Japanese script, all these types of letters are used together. Katakana are used to write foreign names and loan words. 1945 kanji letters are fixed as essential for daily use. Hiragana are used to write particles, the inflectable parts of words etc. Other than these 3 types of letters, romaji (Roman letters) are sometimes used for the convenience of foreigners. You may see romaji at stations and on sign-boards. Below are examples of all 4 types of scripts"

We have learnt the hiragana in our Japanese Basic 1 - Level 1.

And now we start with katakana as we start our Japanese Basic 1 - Level 2 lessons.

Wow... what a long way to go!

Movie - Ip Man 2

After a few other average movies, happy to have caught another good one - Ip Man 2! Though the storyline is pretty simple and predictable, the fighting is good. And it sure brings out the patriotic side of you!

How to get in??

Imagine how irritated we were when we went up to the Shaw carpark and saw this! How selfish some Singaporeans are! This driver of the car on the left left a huge space for himself to get out and almost none for my hubby to get in.

Ok ok, maybe i am being too harsh. I guess the body size must be a lot bigger than us... and i am not referring to the car.

Sweetness

My hubby is the sweetest.

He will always try his best to make sure i get what i want. And I'm not just referring to the big things. It's really the little things... When we drove past the pasar malam near our house on Monday night, I mentioned in passing that it's been a long time since i had those steamed peanuts. And on Tuesday night, after coming out from the shower, sitting quietly on the counter top was a bag of steamed peanuts..

My hubby is really the sweetest :)
